Hotel Jansen is a truly special place and I cannot be thankful enough for the opportunity to have stayed there. It was the warmest welcome to the Netherlands that I ever could have asked for; the staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was extremely cozy and had everything I needed, and Mama's was a perfect place to meet up with friends, relax and really made the whole stay feel like a home away from home. In summary, I would highly recommend Hotel Jansen to anyone visiting Amsterdam; be it for a long, or a short stay.
I stayed here for two months for work and enjoyed every minute of it - be it in the cozy, well-decorated, clean room, the nice common areas and kitchens, or the great café Mama's downstairs, while being in touch with the most kind, friendly, and motivated staff (greeting you by name every morning ;). The location of Jansen is great, as are the social activities (including the most amazing yoga class!). For me, this was *the* place to be, regardless of whether I needed some quiet time for myself or wanted to hang out with others. Everything seemed to be made with love and inspired by a great atmosphere 🙂 Thank you all very much and all the best!
I spent six months in the Hotel and now that I am in Italy, I miss a lot the life there and people that I met. Hotel Jansen is a real family with friendly and helpful staff. In addition, Mama's restaurant is a nice place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner in a quiet and informal atmosphere. In the building, the bedrooms and the common spaces are comfortable, with modern design and a lot of light thanks to big windows.I knew people from all over the world with who I shared many beautiful moments in our club room and outside. My stay in the Hotel went really fast because I enjoyed a lot it.
Hotel Jasen is located in Zuid Zone 1, the center of banking zone and the most safe area in Amsterdam. The mixture of residents with students and young expat create a great atmosphere in staying. I give it the highest rating and also recommend Hotel Jasen to my company HR department. I enjoy every moment of my staying, it is a great kick off for your stay in Amsterdam.

*The food of their restaurant is awesome
What i liked most about Hotel Jansen (next to the fact that you have your onw fridge in your room, i found that pretty awesome) is the friendly staff. Everybody is o helpful, relaxed and really always friendly. They were so caring and always willing to help. They were really like friends. Thumbs up to all of them!
Both the staff and the Booking Office were amazing in assisting me from the very beginning of the room booking process until my move-out. I remember on the first day, I arrived not realizing that the European power outlet was different from the American, but the staff was so friendly to suggest where I could buy an adapter and even drawing a map to accompany it. All the other residents were also very friendly and overall made my 2-month stay in Amsterdam unforgettable!
Comfortable and convenient place to stay if you'll be living in Amsterdam on a temporary basis. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Best part is the people you end up meeting from all across world 🙂
I'm 64, and I was recently part of a summer study program through which I came to stay in a student room at Hotel Jansen. At my age, I expect appropriate sanitation, safety, comfort and respect. Hotel Jansen delivers all the requirements, but also encourages a genuine sense of wellbeing through staff whose friendly commitment to guests promotes community throughout the residence. The quirky design elements keep people surprised and smiling, and the food at Mama's is wonderful. I'm an accomplished cook, and the risotto was so good that I'd be proud to have made it myself. I look forward to returning--even if I'll be required to stay as a hotel guest.
